Joe KNIGHT was born in Northeastern Ohio into a Christian home where he learned early in life that he had a God given ability to play the piano. He then surrendered to full time service at a young age. He has now served as a Minister for more than 34 years. In addition to serving several Churches, Joe has also travelled full time with a music group and as a soloist, produced multiple recording projects and even produced a Gospel Music show in Branson. Joe has also been involved with Law Enforcement as well as Chaplain and as a Police Officer, including a 2-year role as Chief Deputy for his East Texas County. He currently lives in Greenville Texas with his wife Shaunda, where he served Family Fellowship Church as Music Pastor from 1995 - 2016.
Joe’s son Matt also surrendered to the ministry at a young age. Matt was in his third year of study at Criswell College and was fulfilling an internship in the Middle School Ministry, as well as Worship Ministry at Family Fellowship. It was here that Joe lived many Pastors’ dream; to serve side by side with their son. Then came a cold winter morning two days before Christmas when their worlds would be turned upside down. Nothing could have prepared either man, father or son, for the journey that would come when Matt was diagnosed with cancer.
Joe’s live presentation of this compelling story is truly a worship experience interwoven with videos, traditional, worship and original music that follow this journey through both tragedy and triumph. This is a presentation that will have you in tears one moment and laughing the next while you are being drawn into intimate communion with God. Along the way you will find great encouragement and hope, and will be reminded to “never take one moment for granted”. You will also be brought face to face with a clear presentation of the Gospel... all in less than one hour.
This live worship event parallels Joe’s book, TEARS IN A BOTTLE... Lessons From A Broken Heart, and the companion small group/individual study guide and DVD of the same title.
Joe and his wife Shaunda have made great sacrifices to seek opportunities to present this story. They exchanged their family home in favor of a minimalistic, mobile lifestyle enabling them to travel the entirety of the United States. With the blessings and support of their great church where Joe served for the past 21 years, he has resigned his successful fulltime ministry and they have focused their energy into telling the story of this Journey… the Journey that so profoundly changed their lives.
Having Joe and Shaunda at your Church is like bringing in a special musician and a special speaker all at the same time. Born through the loss of their son, Matt, in his third year of Bible College, this ministry can be utilized in conjunction with your sermon series or as a stand-alone worship service used as a tool to help your people navigate tragedy. They are also available to provide either portion of a worship service (speaking or music). Joe’s iconic piano styling, his thirty-five years as a Worship Pastor and Media Creator along with his commitment to genuine worship assure a presentation that will not compromise you in any way.
Their flagship presentation is THE GREATER JOURNEY live worship event. This immersive worship experience is crafted around Joe’s Book; TEARS IN A BOTTLE… Lessons from a Broken Heart, which chronicles the lessons he learned through the loss of their son. They present an incredible message of hope to hurting people with an unapologetic presentation of the Gospel and a challenge for believers to worship regardless of life’s circumstances.
